Off to the Rockies

Praise God as in the last two weeks we watched God provide through the hearts of many –  over 43 thousand dollars. From swap meets, to car washings, to selling shirts out of the trunk; the students did many things to raise the capital to go on this trip. When it was all said and done it ended with how it started – prayer. 1st Chronicles 16:9

Just in the last two days we watched the last 20 grand come in the bank, as well as over a dozen students starting and passing their class B licenses at the DMV. To top it off we were able to trade our two motor coach buses for two newer fifteen passenger vans. And with the help of our trusted alumni we were blessed with a new van and suv w/ trailer to finish our fleet.

Keep posted as we continue to share the many great things God is doing in us and through us.

The Fleet

We left yesterday in new vans (received from trading our old buses) and a borrowed truck and a SUV both with their own trailers. We have the fleet we need to accomplish our mission!

Coming Together!

Excitement mounts as each team sees their part coming together. The ministry, lodging, food, transportation, financing and media teams are all putting the final touches on our preparation.  Sara, on the Evangelism and Pastoral team said that they will be the pastoral support for the trip as well soul winning.  She adamantly declared “spirit lead or not at all”.  Nadia on the children’s ministry team said their main focus is to “love on kids and be flexible”.  Cody and Joe are busy designing logos to stick on the vans. All the while, drivers scurry to get their Class B driver’s licenses to drive the vans we will be traveling in.  Ian issues sleeping pads, Lamarr and Phillip are packing bibles and tracts. The drama team practices their skits and dancing, as Jessica Lewis tries to organize a schedule that’s changing faster then she can type it out.  Can you believe it, we leave tomorrow!  Pray for us.

The Countdown Begins

As the last day of preparation before the HSE Spring 2010 practicum begins, students excitedly work within their teams to plan out our trip to Denver and Brooklyn. We have just over 30 hours to finalize our Financial, Food, Lodging, Media, and Ministry plans. Leaders and Student leaders prayerfully seek council from God for guidance in their responsibilities and seek what God is leading them to do. While other students anxiously (in a good way :)) await what is many of their first times on a practicum. As we all continue on this amazing journey, we have hope that God has many miracles in store along the way.
